What causes a Sorento park brake malfunction
The Sorento’s electronic parking brake uses a single motorised assembly to pull both rear park brake cables. Over time the internal gearset strips under load, or moisture and road grime work into the housing and corrode the motor. Worn or stretched cables make it worse — they force the motor to work outside its design load, which is why a replacement fitted to tired cables often fails again.

Fitting your Kia Sorento EPB actuator
The assembly bolts into the original location and plugs into the factory harness. The park brake system must be put into service mode before removal and recalibrated afterwards with a scan tool — no coding or programming is needed, but the calibration step is not optional.
